Health

Energy can play a key role in augmenting health services and enhancing WASH outcomes. Sustain Plus partners with local government bodies and communities to improve the service delivery of healthcare institutions in remote rural communities.

Sustain Plus provides infrastructure development support and access to clean energy in government healthcare institutions like Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHC) in rural areas. Most centres run on diesel in the absence of continuous grid electricity supply which is not cost effective. These institutions are supported to improve and increase the uptake of government healthcare services through reliable and continued electricity access, energy efficient equipment, and lower energy and operating costs.

This enables healthcare professionals and workers to provide timely medical services to local communities, and at lower costs. Equipment such as baby warmers, vaccine storage, e-partography, OT and other services are supported to strengthen healthcare services.
